Owen Meany was a garage rock band with which Danny played guitar for a short time before most of the line-up merged with that of Spijkers.
The origins of Owen Meany date back to late 2005, when the original members started a band influenced by MC5 and Kyuss. There had been one or two line-up changes before in early December 2007 Danny got asked to join. At that time the band consisted of singer Max, guitarist Lonneke (also vocals/guitar for Spijkers), bassplayer Ernesto (also Spijkers bassist, as well as guitarist/singer for Strychnine) and drummer Gijs (later in Black Tarantula). Their first rehearsal with Danny took place on December 12, and late December the one and only gig with this iine-up was done with Strychnine. After a few more rehearsals Owen Meany merged with Spijkers by late January 2008.
